Oil Painting Recantou

The "Oil Painting" committee of the Récantou

By joining in the activities of the Oil Painting committee of the senior citizens club, everyone can learn to paint in Bize. Even if you are not a member of the association, the rules of the Récantou allow everyone, for a modest contribution, to take part in one or another of the club's activities.

The beginners group of oil painters is made up of around a dozen members, who get together every week on Friday afternoons between 14.00 and 17.00, in the senior citizens club premises, at the side of the Porte Saint-Michel in Bize.

For a few hours, the venue, both quiet and friendly, welcomes easels, palettes, colours and paintbrushes, an environment offering everything for amateur artists.

Colette Lencioni, artist and painter, who has a studio in Le Somail, moves amongst everyone and lavishes encouragement and advice. At first, it is learning how to paint all subjects. The colours, the harmony, and the composition of a picture, as well as the perspective. At a more advanced stage, she gives advice on how to paint a picture from a model, then from a photo.

Exhibition at the Bize Post Office. Spring 2008.

The works completed by the members of the painting committee are mostly exhibited in the summer, at the Festival of the Muse or at the Olive Festival , or at temporary exhibitions, such as in spring 2008 at the Bize Post office.
