The Bize-Minervois carnival in 2009
Sunday, February 15th was the 2009 Bize carnival. In spite of the number of floats being a little less than 2008, everything came together. Once more, numerous volunteers pulled together, in spite of the death of Romain, to present a very beautiful carnival to the population. Thanks go to all those volunteers, who decorated the floats during the two months preceding the carnival.
The lively and jolly atmosphere was a major attraction, with a big turnout from the public. Several humorous floats particularly attracted attention: Bize maintenance team, the police van, the Simpsons ... but the others were also good, the float from the Calandreta school, from the senior citizens' club ... as well as the disguises, often hilariously funny, with amazing imagination. This year, the colour was provided by the Jamaica float, which went off at the end of the route to go to the fairground.
The procession of the floats was followed by a party at the village hall, where you could applaud the groups, who took such a major part in the festival atmosphere.
