The festival committee in Bize-Minervois

In Bize-Minervois, every time the village prepares for a festival, enthusiastic volunteers get together to give it "the best flavour possible", to quote an expression from Rolland Barthe. These are the members of the festival committee!

Some look after the logistics, something which cannot be ignored. Members of the association's office manage the material, the accounts, man the telephones... and many Bizois are keen to respond and get involved. Every year, at least 150 people give their time in preparations for the carnival!

These are the Carnival Supporters of Bize, who, between Christmas and February, spend their evenings in barns and buildings in the village, making the effort to build the most beautiful float of the year.

The main events put on by the association are at regular intervals throughout the year, and at least you can say that they do not happen without being noticed!

It starts with New Year's Eve, the night before New Year's Day. Then there is the carnival, the car-boot sale, the two days of celebration for July 14th, the "Freestyle" acrobatic motorcycle demonstration in the Cesse riverbed (first staged in 2007 and, as it was a success, will be staged again in 2008!), the Olive Festival, the rally surprise, the dinner dance for the Carnival supporters... As part of the inter-association working, the festival committee contributes to the recreational evening for the fight against cancer, as well as the Telethon.

This dynamic association is always ready to ensure the village festivals have a great atmosphere.
