Baptism and first communion at St Michel church
Accompanied by their Sunday-school teacher, Anne Lafon, the children Bastien, Margot, Amandine and Orlane recently received their first communion, which took place at the same time as the baptism and communion of their friend Sabrina. During the ceremony, abbé Régis Alquier from Bize stood in front of a very large congregation. The priest spoke in such a way that everyone felt involved. Everyone is always impressed with his profound knowledge of the scriptures, which he succeeds in sharing and making relevant today.
During the sacraments, all the children were serious, with a certain solemnity, but also enjoying what was happening and what they were doing. In particular, they were asked to choose to respect people, to prefer to love their neighbour rather than love money. When they said "Yes" to this way of life, the young communicants were warmly accepted. This was a first step and came from the heart. The other children present in the church were pleased to be invited up to the front of the altar as well.
